Sterling Renaissance Festival

Join 200 professional actors and stagehands as they recreate the 16th-century village of Warwickshire, England, every Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., July 7 through August 19 in Sterling, N.Y. Sing famous pub tunes, place a bid at wench auctions, and munch on tasty foods like steak-on-a-stake and jumbo turkey legs. 17th Annual Finger Lakes GrassRoots Festival of Music and Dance

Started by the band Donna and the Buffalo as a means to raise money for the fight against AIDS and other worthy causes, this festival hosts four days and four nights (July 19 – 22) of 80 performances at the fairgrounds in Trumansburg, north of Ithaca. Listen to the music of hip-hop sensation Arrested Development, Grammy-winning country musician Jim Lauderdale, and Australian ska band The Cat Empire. Syracuse Micro-Brews and Blues Week

This event kicks off July 20 with the Empire State Brewing & Music Festival in Clinton Square from 5 to 11 p.m. Sample 300 different styles of beer while listening to live music. The 21-and-up event costs $35, and proceeds benefit Project Children and the New York State Brewers Association.
